The EU's General Data Protection Regulation has significantly raised privacy awareness worldwide in the brief time that it's been in force, says Rob Hinson, a global privacy expert with OneTrust. Organizations are revamping both internal and external privacy programs to meet the minimum global standard, he says.

Hinson is a global privacy expert with OneTrust and a certified information privacy professional. In his role, Hinson advises organizations on creating, implementing and managing privacy programs to operationalize compliance with various country and region-specific regulations. Previously, he worked as an associate director at Eze Software, as well as being instrumental in building out the North Asia operations for AirWatch, which was acquired by VMware in 2014.
