Rethinking Risk for the Remote Workforce

Canon EMEA's Quentyn Taylor on Reviewing the Core Collaboration Suite
Quentyn Taylor, director of information security, Canon EMEA

Despite the rapid shift to a work-from-home environment, business continuity and resiliency thrived. Does this mean security teams were focused on the right risks all along? Perhaps in part, but gaps still need to be addressed, says Quentyn Taylor, a Canon director of information security.

“People need to start thinking about what to do if we don’t have access to our core central collaboration suite,” Taylor says. “How would we reach our employees to say this is a new URL or this is what you need to do?”

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Taylor also discusses:

  • The growing importance of cloud access security broker - CASB - technology;
  • The need for organizations to review their access to collaboration suites;
  • How securing cloud infrastructure is more important than complete visibility of the network.

Taylor is director of information security for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Canon, an imaging equipment and information systems provider. Before joining Canon, Taylor worked in a variety of industries, including for internet service providers as well as startup businesses.
