SASE helps organizations to identify the right use cases when securing user access, says Rajpreet Kaur, senior principal analyst at Gartner.
With the move to the cloud, security practitioners need to deploy controls closer to users, and SASE plays a key role, says Siddharth Deshpande, director of security strategy for Asia-Pacific and Japan at Akamai Technologies, in a video panel discussion with Information Security Media Group.
Vishal Salvi, global CISO and head of cybersecurity at Infosys Ltd., says the increased scale of operations due to remote workforces is accelerating the need for network and security convergence and transformation, and SASE is an appropriate model to support this change.

Kaur, a principal analyst for infrastructure protection at Gartner, helps IT leaders resolve network security issues across hybrid environments. Her research focuses on network security technologies. She also focuses on emerging markets and helps clients review their security architecture to identify any technology gaps.
As director of security strategy for Akamai's Asia-Pacific and Japan region, Deshpande helps security leaders build a security strategy and select an architecture. Previously, he was a senior director at Gartner, serving as an adviser on security and risk management challenges.
Salvi is responsible for the information security strategy across the Infosys Group. He has over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity and IT across many industries. Prior to joining Infosys, he served in leadership roles at PwC, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Global Trust Bank, Development Credit Bank, and Crompton Greaves.
