Barracuda's Hill and Allen on How to Address Cloud Security Gaps
New Study: Cloud Confidence, Maturity on the Rise

Cloud maturity and confidence are growing, but security leaders are still reluctant to host highly sensitive data in the cloud. These are findings of a new Barracuda Networks survey. Chris Hill and Gemma Allen of Barracuda explore the results and what they mean.

Running this survey for the second consecutive year, Hill - Barracuda's Regional Vice President, Public Cloud & Strategic Partners International - says they got encouraging results.

"Last year, there were 56 percent of the people who thought on-premise security was stronger than in the cloud, and that [number] dropped quite a bit, down to 37 percent," Hill says. Which means, bottom line: "We're seeing a lot more people confident in the cloud."

In an interview about the new cloud survey, Hill and Allen discuss:

  • Highlights of the research;
  • Characteristics of cloud maturity;
  • Evolution of cloud attacks and defenses.

Hill joined Barracuda in 2016 and, since then, has successfully developed the Public Cloud Business across the EMEA region. His main focus is securing Barracuda customers' journey to Azure, AWS and GCP, with market leading, cloud generation technology.

As a consulting systems engineer, Allen specialises in providing technical consultation around all the cloud solutions provided by Barracuda Networks, with a focus on AWS and Microsoft Azure. In her current role, she provides advice to Barracuda customers around their public cloud migrations as well as working with development and product management teams within Barracuda to improve its products and solutions.
